What does LLLT Treat?
Hair Loss and Arthritis Pain Relief Treatments, Wound Care
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has been known since 1967 and has quietly made its way in into the world of complementary and alternative medicine. In some cases insurance companies may not cover LLLT since it is said to be an experinmental treatment, though many naturopaths, chiropractors, and clinics have "cold lasers" that uses LLLT to treat patients who may experience pain as a result of inflammation. Scientific literature on the mechanism of LLLT is divided on the possible mechanisms, but patients report positive results which lead them to continue treatment. The LLLT treatment usually works in the near-infrared range and may be related to light therapy and photomedicine as ways of treating chronic pain and arthritis-like conditions.
